Jerrilyn Cambron, LMT, PhD at the podium

Jerrilyn Cambron, LMT, PhD, presented at the MBGH meeting March 14, 2013

My presentation at MBGH went well today. Participants were engaged in the presentation.  Massage seems to be one of their favorite and most commonly used CAM therapies.  I even received two nice emails asking if I would be available in the future to talk about CAM and massage therapy.

Some massage industry highlights from today:

  • “The idea of having massage therapy on-site was very well received. In fact, several of the company representatives discussed having massage therapists available for their workers.”
  • “Many industry participants talked about a shift in health care towards more patient-focus. So, when workers (patients) request massage therapy as one of their interventions, companies are starting to listen.”
  • “Having an on-site medical clinic may reduce the time away from work needed to attend an office visit. Therefore, large companies are moving towards this model. Massage therapy may be included in these workplace clinical settings.”

Thank you to Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH) for the opportunity to participate in this forum.
